more random junk

I don't really know why I started having a meltdown while making quesadillas for dinner tonight. Odd. Could be a combination of things, none of which I think *should* be issues for me. I mean, more people do as much or more with the same or less than I have. And I know there are people out there who are dealing with more than me.

Cryptic enough for ya? Nah. I don't mean it to be. I'm just thinking out loud.

I think I need a big drink of 'suck-it-up-and-deal'. That, and a six-pack of cider.

(What is it about six-year-olds that makes them want to give everything they own away...unless it is suggested to them that they donate old toys and clothes?....THEN they become the most tight-fisted people on earth!)

So Kira and I have discovered another hobby (like I need more of those).....letterboxing....a treasure hunt kind of thing, involving using written clues/directions to hunt for a letterbox. The box contains a (usually hand-carved)rubber stamp and a small logbook. You locate the box, stamp the logbook with your stamp, stamp *your* logbook with the box's stamp, and hide everything again for someone else to find. The boxes are usually located off the beaten path, in inconspicuous areas in such a way that you would not be able to find the box unless you were specifically looking for it. We went on two hunts yesterday, finding a total of four boxes. One of the hunts was in a local park, and there were three boxes, each hidden separately. There were three stamps, which made up one whole multicolored symbol when all three were located and stamped in your book. It's very cool. Kira enjoyed it, and it appeals to my enjoyment of hiking and of treasure hunting. :)

Investiture.....sigh....I may not get to make any garb, which makes me sad. I don't know if I can, or will physically be able to carve out the time for it. Not to mention the fact that I haven't yet bought the fabric I would need. Or even decided on what it should be.

Sigh... the dogs need to go out....
