thanksgiving
It was a terrific Thanksgiving! The morning was warm....but became extremely windy and cold! Kira and Travis and I watched the Macy's Parade (as is traditional in my house) on TV while I baked a pumpkin pie. Kira had to go to her dad's for Turkey Day, so we had to leave around noon to get there on time.
....I am thankful for my mom....
The drive was beautiful -- very vivid colors and bright sunshine -- but the wind was horrendous! It really struggled to keep the little car in my lane.
...I am thankful for Harley and Quinn...
We got to Madison on time, hugged the munchkin and saw her safely off, grabbed sodas and sweet potato chips (yum! It *was* Thanksgiving, after all, couldn't have regular chips!), and made our way back to Richmond.
...I'm thankful for our house, and for food, and for Travis...
We stopped home briefly, then went over to Iane and Helen's place for dinner....football, dance recital videos, the Spiderman movie....Thanksgiving dinner cooked by a food Laurel....ohmyGOD!!! Yummy!
(and *I* didn't have to destroy my kitchen!)

Three pies.....talking, laughing, a discussion on the merits of certain musicals and why Helen hates Andrew Lloyd Webber....remembering Gyrth....being joyful and content in the presence of friends we don't get to see very much....chatting about garb with Kitten....yay! Good times.
We got home very late, and I worked about three hours today.
I am thankful for my family, those both chosen and those related by birth, all of whom are always there for me....I am thankful for my husband, who is a pillar of strength and security and love, even though he doesn't always think so...I am thankful my daughter is happy, healthy, and brilliantly creative....I am thankful I have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to my work....I am thankful for the presence of peace and real joy and love in my life....I am thankful, and grateful, that I have been given so much.
....and I am thankful that people love me...
