Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 - 10:23 p.m. one more day....
One more day at my current job, then a week and a half off before I start the new job. Of course, all the harried Christmas prep coupled with the weekend's drama and some snow and ice culminated in the return of some illness last night. ALl of a sudden, I was overcome with the need to lie down. i was achy and chilled, and my neck and head hurt. Ick. I slept, but I sure could have used today off. Too much paperwork at work, though, plus it was our Christmas potluck....so I went. The Richmond Ballet's Nutcracker was outstanding on Sunday. Kira loved the butterfly dancer that actually flew (on rigging) during Waltz of the Flowers. Iain and Helen were there, as their daughter, Corrinne, was dancing the part of a cavalier. Iain arranged for the dancer who did the butterfly role to sign her pointe shoes and give them to Kira. Awesome. The whole production was gorgoeus. I could not stop crying, it was so beautiful....*sniff* "And that's...*sniff* the Snow Queen, and the Snow King, honey....*sniff*....she makes it snow....*sniff*...oh, there's the Sugarplum Fairy and her Cavalier...*sniff*...so beautiful!" Yeah. I'm pathetic. Bite me. Kira enjoyed the whole thing, and loved getting autographs and pictures afterward of the dancers at the Sweets party. Tomorrow night is the first performance of her ice show....her Daddy will be there, supposedly. Travis and my mom and I are going Thursday night. Well, I have to go tomrrow night, too. I just got back from a knitting group CHristmas social at my friend Jane's house....there were margaritas and I introduced everyone to Savory Toasted CHeese, i.e. the Dip of Doom. Yummy. I really need to go to bed now. My head hurts.
