some progress

I’ve been going to the gym for three or four weeks now, and I think I’m starting to see some results. Got on the scale yesterday morning and was down by 2 pounds – yay! – and I think some of my jeans are starting to fit better right out of the dryer. Nice. I don’t care so much about the weight number, but the ‘clothes fitting better’ thing and the ‘lower body fat’ thing are pretty important. Lots of cardiac issues in my family.

But I’m tired. I haven’t quite gotten to the point where I am accustomed to the workout well enough to be more energized overall, and less fatigued. I don’t think I’m working out too hard, I think it’s a matter of regular exercise not being a part of my life for a long while, and now here I am back at it. So I have to adjust, I guess. It’s all good. Travis even went to the gym himself last night – it was a family affair, with Kira doing an hour of pool time with the kids.

I have been dreaming about my KASF panel, and wanting to surround the figures with blue glass to make a rectangular panel. I should do that. It will be stronger, and easier to hang, actually. I can finish it in wide zinc channel, then, which will make it nice and sturdy. I may have to do that this weekend. I think there is a trip to the glass shop in the plans for Saturday, because I need to plan for my next project(s). The ‘next projects’ list is now up to three – a period panel, a suncatcher that I have to work out the pattern for, and my arms panel. Not necessarily in that order, mind you. I also have the “crackheaded project”, which I keep taking the pattern out and looking at, but have yet to focus on to make. It’s totally not period, and it may wait til summer, til I have more time (ha!).

Kira’s home this weekend, and we will be handling the Girl Scout cookies stuff. Also I think a glass shop trip, maybe a gym run, and maybe a trip to a craft show in town. Maybe. I want to do something with her that SHE wants to do also, so we’ll have to see what we could do – bake, maybe, or do some crafts, or maybe just play mermaids or fairies. She’s been dying to get me to play fairies and princesses with her.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for today. Must get staff meeting notes written for the meeting at noon. Have a great day!
